Action Theater is a unique form of embodied improvisational theater in which one practices the art of presence. Through rigorous and fun exercises that isolate and then re-combine movement, sound, and language, students learn to source creative impulses and craft them into clear images, stories, and dreamscapes. The practice turns the mind inside out, examines habits, and opens up new possibilities. Working in solos, duets, trios and as an ensemble, classes begin with physical and vocal warm-ups and proceed through exercises, ending with performance scores. Each Saturday will focus on a particular theme (such as sound into language, transformations, etc.). This work is good for performers and non-performers alike, and is applicable to everyday life. Limited to 7.
