Laura Evonne Steinmanhas always made art with community member of all ages and different walks of life, including for five years in Poland. She currently teaches art at Gifford School in Weston to students with emotional, learning and behavioral challenges. On weekends and evenings, she organizes community-based art projects and sews what she calls "Colorful Matters" - fabric creations from remnant fabrics. She earned her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her Masters in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Learn the delicate and colorful art of traditional Polish paper cutting, from an instructor who has learned the techniques of this art from women in small Polish villages. Come make some of the detailed, colorful stars, known as "gwiazdy," and other beautiful designs. Bring a pair of scissors. Paper and glue will be provided. A $5 materials fee is payable to the instructor in the first session. Limited to 12.
