Daniel Gewertz has published over 3,000 articles in the last 25 years as a Boston-based freelance journalist, writing largely about the performing arts. From 1995 to 2005, was a Boston Herald arts department columnist, with a weekly column devoted to folk and blues music. Over the years, Gewertz haz written for periodicals ranging from the New York Times and Harvard Magazine, to the Cambridge Chronicle and The Tab. He's been teaching journalism and creative writing classes for 22 years, and holds a B.S. from Boston University in journalism. From 1980-1995, he worked for several radio stations as disc-jockey, movie-theater critic and news-announcer.

After the typical late winter draught of quality, substantial films, late spring should be a good time to reconvene this long-runningÊdiscussion group of new movies. If last spring is any indication, there'll be a decent flow of independent and foreign film released inÊMay, 2010.ÊEach week, students will choose the most intriguingand discussion-worthy new films in Boston-area movie houses. After viewing the chosen movie on your own, we'll engage in lively analysis and consideration.ÊLimited to 14.
