Richard Parent has been an opera enthusiast for over 40 years -- studying, enjoying, and attending operas -- and has amassed a vast collection on opera, opera trivia, and opera history. He has taught courses in opera at various education centers in the Boston area, and has given special lectures and trips to operas in New England and abroad. Richard received his B.A. in history from Clark University, his M.A. in history from Boston University, and his teacher certification from Northeastern University.

Each week we will take an in-depth look at an individual opera, considering the composer's background, the plot synopsis, musical highlights, famous singers, and historic recordings, utilizing a multimedia approach including records, tapes, compact discs, videos, and slides. Limited to 20.
