Erica Beade is a scientific illustrator and art educator specializing in teaching observational drawing techniques to students of all ages. She has taught drawing at the Harvard Museum of Natural History for the past six years, and also offers private drawing classes for individuals and groups. Drawing is a great way to connect with the natural world, and nature study can be an inspiring way to develop your drawing skills. This course will focus on basic observational drawing skills that can be used anywhere, but we'll focus on natural objects and environments. Classes will alternate between the classroom and several outdoor locations. We'll practice techniques to improve our observational skills, and explore capturing shapes, textures, and shading. Limited to 14.
