Susan Franz teaches courses in computer arts at The Cambridge Center and at Becker College in Worcester, MA. She has taught previously at The Rhode Island School of Design. She is currently the principal designer of Miraweb Design and a popular local speaker. In her more than 15 years of experience in web technologies she has worked for top technology companies including Cambridge Technology Partners and Akamai Technologies.

This course will focus upon the creation of basic web pages using Windows Notepad. After a discussion of website design issues, you will gain experience writing basic HTML text (Internet language), creating links, and inserting pictures. You will also learn to code tables and columns, and create a global cascading style sheet. Finally, you will gain an understanding of browser, resolution, and color compatibility issues and learn how to submit your website to search engines. Although taught on Windows, this course is also relevant to Mac users. Limited to 12.
