Susan Glassman received a master's degree from N.Y.U. and a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island, both in English. She taught English at the University of Massachusetts and was also the director of a peer tutoring program there. Currently, she is a docent at the Harvard University Art Museum, frequently guiding and teaching visitors of all ages.

This course is designed to cover the essentials of grammar for people who write reports, proposals, memos, letters, or essays. If you're not sure when to use a comma, semicolon, or colon or if you need a refresher in using pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs correctly, this class is for you. Class sessions will include an informal lecture and discussion, examples and strategies, hands-on exercises and activities, and suggestions to help you improve your writing assignments. To apply what you learn to your own writing, you'll write a one-page letter or essay for each class. Limited to 16.
