Our gala biennial benefit, "Of Course!" on Saturday, April 5th begins at the Cambridge Center with special classes taught by our faculty and local celebrities, followed by a live auction and party with fancy food and fine wine at the Charles Hotel.

"Of Course!" is a phenomenal event in which you get to sample a variety of courses" says CCAE board president Bob Glover. "I've taken the Chocolate tasting and Salsa dancing classes and never had so much fun at a fundraiser."

Robin Young -- host of WBUR's popular show "Here & Now" -- is this year's special guest presenter.

"It's a benefit party that actually stimulates your imagination and engages your creativity," says Susan Eldredge Mead, who has at different times been a CCAE, board member, staff member, faculty member and student.

"CCAE has been a pioneer of interactive learning since it was founded as the Cambridge Social Union in 1876. Attending "Of Course!" is a great way to keep an important part of Harvard Square alive and well for another 100 years."

"Of Course!" raises much needed scholarship funds for the Center so that our classes and events can be accessible to all.

"Part of what I enjoy about CCAE is the wide variety of students," says long time CCAE student and board member Liz Coxe. "This range of life experiences makes classes more interesting and is part and parcel of what makes CCAE a vibrant community institution."

CCAE board member Lauren Holleran agrees. "Whether taking a cooking class with a group of friends on a Friday night or enjoying wine and cheese while listening to Clare Messud discuss her latest novel, I so appreciate being surrounded by the diverse range of students who fill our classrooms and lecture halls."

As one of the Boston area's oldest and largest non-profit institutions, CCAE is widely recognized as a center for community, innovation, and quality programming.

"'Of Course!' embodies the best of the Cambridge and Boston cultural world," says Jim Smith, CCAE's executive director. "Everyone who attends will be swept up and enlivened by it."
